  • i see double twin towers

sorry my headache is making my eyes seeing double twin towers. #inception wtf

    Anyway....

Back 5 months ago, I was eager to visit some iconic places in KL with my first Korean girl-friend, Park Miree. After a week planning our little local trip in KL, we decided to start off with Kuala Lumpur Twin Tower since we both never literally been inside the twin towers itself. I, being a Malaysian myself, only stepped foot in KLCC since I was a little girl for its outdoor kiddie pool, multicolour park and beautiful landscape for family picnic.

Oh, FYI Pretty Miree is a student exchange from Kyung Hee University in Busan, S. Korea for 6 months. Let me tell you, when I arrived in HELP hostel, the first thing I noticed was bunch of cute Koreans! So many of them I almost thought I’m in Korea, not Malaysia. Most Koreans in HELP are exchange students for an intensive English course offered in HELP, so they only stay here for a month.

And most importantly, don’t let their cute drama-look-alike appearance fool ya! Their behaviour?…..no eye see *shakemyheaddissapointly*

Ok, back to our mini trip. Miree invited her other hunky Korean ‘friend’, Lee Sang Kyung Oppa along with Kevin to join us. Till today, I still have no idea how come Kevin was with us? Omg, first time I called a Korean dude “Oppa”, my heart was racing fast because to me “oppa” sounds like darling but to the Korean, it means ‘big brother’ and for older woman you call them ‘noona’ as a sign of respect. So yeah, Miree Noona and Sang Kyung Oppa…lovely.

(LOL, notice the frequent peace sign from these Koreans? So typical whatevah)

Beginning of the trip started off enjoyable even though I was expecting it to be awkward because these Koreans are kinda a lot older than me and Kevin but I’m so glad they tried making conversation with us, even with a slight of language barrier. So much laughs in the subway and public bus, causing people to stare at us weirdos.

Once arrived, hunky Oppa was so hungry he didn’t care where we going as long we find a restaurant to eat first. We followed Kevin’s recommendation to this Japanese restaurant; Sushi Sake which was surprisingly halal despite the name was based on alcoholic drink. Food was great but unfortunate for me, I ordered Kimchi noodle after assurance was given by these lovely Koreans that Kimchi is not very spicy. HELL NO! IT WAS DAMN HOT! My eyes began to teary, nose puffy and my face was blooming red! Thank God for the warm green tea and mochi ice-cream that cooled down the hotness. And Thank God Oppa was a big eater he finished my food in seconds, literally. At least I don’t have to feel guilty leaving the food unfinished.

Our main aim for the trip was to go up to the sky bridge to see the KL view from the twin tower. So we searched and searched, and when finally we found it, wtf it was closed as ticket sold out and it was only 1pm ish. Very disappointing. So disappointing I wanted to squish the twin towers.

So, since there was nothing else to do, I brought them to the KLCC Park and witness the magnificent KL Twin Tower from outside its ground level. It was beautiful despite the weather was bitchy hot but chilly.

(oh, that douche in the middle? Just some stranger who wanna join our little group picture)

We walked around the beautiful park, taking pictures like the tourists but talk like the local cool As we arrived at my most favourite place in KLCC in my childhood, the kiddie pool (which kinda got me emotional because there are many memories stick around that place); suddenly my Aunt called asking where I am and how well I’m settling in my Uni bla la bla yadi yadi da. The Koreans and Kevin got bored listening to my non-understandable conversation with my Aunt so they ditched me and played around the kiddie pool. And HAH, they got told off by a security guard as they were too adult to play around the pool. WTF lah. They were just soaking their bare legs into the water, not like they’re drowning other kids.

This is Miree with the Korean side of the tower. Apparently, one side of the tower is designed by Korean while on the other side designed by the Japanese. Hmm, irony much?

Seeing how uncomfortable Oppa was under the tropical heat, we decided to go to the modern furniture gallery inside KLCC. Furniture there was very unique and interesting so I took pictures of them but then guess what, I’m next in line who got told by a security guard.bummed

Well, I didn’t saw the no-camera sign at the front door as I was really excited to get in and while I was deleting the pictures of the gallery in RIGHT IN FRONT of the security guard that seems to be taking ages to be deleted (because so many of them la), I tried to make conversation with him to cool down the air because he’s one heck of unfriendly guard. But pffttt, he didn’t seem to appreciate it plus shattering my humour into pieces in public was so humiliating. I sooo hate him!bitter

My headache during the time forced us to end our fun but-not-so-fun-ending trip a little shorter than expected. If you ask me to summarize the entire trip in one word, I would say…oh well, there is no exact one word to describe the whole pleasant and yet disappointing trip but I’m grateful for the time I spent with Miree as we rarely see each other these days due to our course differences. I know I said we spent a week planning our trips around KL but that didn’t work out well since assignments begin to catch up with our free time.

It’s ok, Miree. One more month till you leave this country, I shall bring you wherever you wanna go. happy

    heart u all!
