i see double twin towers
sorry my headache is making my eyes seeing double twin towers. #inception wtf
Anyway....
Back 5 months ago, I was eager to visit some iconic places in KL with my first Korean girl-friend, Park Miree. After a week planning our little local trip in KL, we decided to start off with Kuala Lumpur Twin Tower since we both never literally been inside the twin towers itself. I, being a Malaysian myself, only stepped foot in KLCC since I was a little girl for its outdoor kiddie pool, multicolour park and beautiful landscape for family picnic.

Oh, FYI Pretty Miree is a student exchange from Kyung Hee University in Busan, S. Korea for 6 months. Let me tell you, when I arrived in HELP hostel, the first thing I noticed was bunch of cute Koreans! So many of them I almost thought I’m in Korea, not Malaysia. Most Koreans in HELP are exchange students for an intensive English course offered in HELP, so they only stay here for a month.
And most importantly, don’t let their cute drama-look-alike appearance fool ya! Their behaviour?…..no eye see *shakemyheaddissapointly*
Ok, back to our mini trip. Miree invited her other hunky Korean ‘friend’, Lee Sang Kyung Oppa along with Kevin to join us. Till today, I still have no idea how come Kevin was with us? Omg, first time I called a Korean dude “Oppa”, my heart was racing fast because to me “oppa” sounds like darling but to the Korean, it means ‘big brother’ and for older woman you call them ‘noona’ as a sign of respect. So yeah, Miree Noona and Sang Kyung Oppa…lovely.

(LOL, notice the frequent peace sign from these Koreans? So typical
)Beginning of the trip started off enjoyable even though I was expecting it to be awkward because these Koreans are kinda a lot older than me and Kevin but I’m so glad they tried making conversation with us, even with a slight of language barrier. So much laughs in the subway and public bus, causing people to stare at us weirdos.
Once arrived, hunky Oppa was so hungry he didn’t care where we going as long we find a restaurant to eat first. We followed Kevin’s recommendation to this Japanese restaurant; Sushi Sake which was surprisingly halal despite the name was based on alcoholic drink. Food was great but unfortunate for me, I ordered Kimchi noodle after assurance was given by these lovely Koreans that Kimchi is not very spicy. HELL NO! IT WAS DAMN HOT! My eyes began to teary, nose puffy and my face was blooming red! Thank God for the warm green tea and mochi ice-cream that cooled down the hotness. And Thank God Oppa was a big eater he finished my food in seconds, literally. At least I don’t have to feel guilty leaving the food unfinished.
Our main aim for the trip was to go up to the sky bridge to see the KL view from the twin tower. So we searched and searched, and when finally we found it, wtf it was closed as ticket sold out and it was only 1pm ish. Very disappointing. So disappointing I wanted to squish the twin towers.

So, since there was nothing else to do, I brought them to the KLCC Park and witness the magnificent KL Twin Tower from outside its ground level. It was beautiful despite the weather was bitchy hot but chilly.

(oh, that douche in the middle? Just some stranger who wanna join our little group picture)
We walked around the beautiful park, taking pictures like the tourists but talk like the local
As we arrived at my most favourite place in KLCC in my childhood, the kiddie pool (which kinda got me emotional because there are many memories stick around that place); suddenly my Aunt called asking where I am and how well I’m settling in my Uni bla la bla yadi yadi da. The Koreans and Kevin got bored listening to my non-understandable conversation with my Aunt so they ditched me and played around the kiddie pool. And HAH, they got told off by a security guard as they were too adult to play around the pool. WTF lah. They were just soaking their bare legs into the water, not like they’re drowning other kids.

This is Miree with the Korean side of the tower. Apparently, one side of the tower is designed by Korean while on the other side designed by the Japanese. Hmm, irony much?

Seeing how uncomfortable Oppa was under the tropical heat, we decided to go to the modern furniture gallery inside KLCC. Furniture there was very unique and interesting so I took pictures of them but then guess what, I’m next in line who got told by a security guard.

Well, I didn’t saw the no-camera sign at the front door as I was really excited to get in and while I was deleting the pictures of the gallery in RIGHT IN FRONT of the security guard that seems to be taking ages to be deleted (because so many of them la), I tried to make conversation with him to cool down the air because he’s one heck of unfriendly guard. But pffttt, he didn’t seem to appreciate it plus shattering my humour into pieces in public was so humiliating. I sooo hate him!

My headache during the time forced us to end our fun but-not-so-fun-ending trip a little shorter than expected. If you ask me to summarize the entire trip in one word, I would say…oh well, there is no exact one word to describe the whole pleasant and yet disappointing trip but I’m grateful for the time I spent with Miree as we rarely see each other these days due to our course differences. I know I said we spent a week planning our trips around KL but that didn’t work out well since assignments begin to catch up with our free time.
It’s ok, Miree. One more month till you leave this country, I shall bring you wherever you wanna go.

The day I met them
Them……are the new ‘family’ of my life. They gave me comforts whenever I needed it and most importantly the joy I received from them is infinity. If you want a good laugh for 90% of your hectic university day, go to them.
I remember vividly the first day I met all them. It was during our January Intake Orientation (brought to you by HELP University College Business Student Council). We were pretty quiet with each other on the first day as there many awkward moments between us strangers. In grouped games, we didn’t even anticipated much as I remember most of us were busy complaining about the games.

Our relationships were closer on the second day where we all bonded really well in grouped sketch that needed to be prepared for the orientation night. We had so much fun discussing the idea behind our role play and the costume we prepared together for our main lead.
Our group was assigned to do a sketch about Rapunzel with the idea of promoting a shampoo. So we had 3 beautiful Rapunzels with REAL BEAUTIFUL HAIRS (well, except the last one Rapunzel. You will see why later on), all locked up in a tower by a mean step-mother (which was me btw because one them said I can have the evil facial expression, I don’t know whether to accept that as a compliment or merely an insult?
)So here is our first Rapunzel, Amber locked up ‘outside’ her tower, Marcus. LOL

The best part was designing the costume for our lead Rapunzel where a prince from far far away will rescue ‘her’ as ‘she’ got the best hair amongst ‘her’ sisters after using the shampoo given by the prince.

I have to mosaic his face because till today he’s still embarrassed about his cunning character. I bet the first thing you notice from the picture was his enormous boobies, right? You dirty thang

Beat that Dolly Parton! HAH!

Everyone was of course tempting to touch the boobies

Here’s our leader Leigh with his main lead, Ben. Oh, Mei Kei is behind. Hiii~

The night begins,

Our sketch was wonderful considering the short amount time and props for preparation. Of course the audience enjoyed the highlight of our main character's part because everyone loves big boobies on a guy with pretty face and sexy body. Sketches from other groups were enjoyable, lots of good laugh that night. Lovely
LOL wtf the cameraman was supposed to take our grouped photo but he’s WAY TOO LATE, snaping the picture when everyone was dispersing from the stage. Lembab punya cameraman.

We won second place, including the points from the games and sketch. Don't play play~

Heh, we only got a box of chocolate -.-‘

Nonetheless, every moment with them on that day will last in my memory (oh well, unless I got amnesia then that’s different case). The joy we shared on that day was just the beginning our friendship…and hopefully it will last forever. However, till today I'm still unsatisfied with the orientation in my university because first, it was only 2 days. Second, not as excited as other university's orientations and it was more like a school camp for me. Third, there was nothing much to be offered thanks to the University's trifling landscape and facilities itself. But I do acknowledge the hard work given by the organizers. Truly appreciated.

Booo you thunders!
I was pretty hyped-up to start off my 1st “Blog Junkie Marathon Week” project today morning but all that enthusiasm vanished thanks to the fall of the great internet as early in the morning that last till evening. Day passed by quickly as I cleaned my room thoroughly because baby, my sisters have turned my room into their “junk” room while I was away for ONLY 5 months. As I arrived in Qatar, the only thought I had in mind was I want to lay down on my bed, whiffing the old smell of my comforting room but as I opened the door……SWEET HEAVEN, there were clothes muddle on my bed, papers and books on the floor and broken swan glass-sculpture (given by my friend on my 12th birthday) on the corner of the room! (And of course, dusts and cats’ furs all over the place). I was too tired (and annoyed) for couple days to clean off everything so I delayed the ‘spring-cleaning’ till today.
All those efforts I put into ‘spring-cleaning’ of my room had ‘helped’ me to delay my little project so here I’m in my white flowery pyjama on my bed with my cat next to me purring softly in his sleep, writing this post in woollen eyes for the sake of the project. I think I deserve something nice tomorrow, don’t you think so?
Let see, how far of my previous 5 months life should we stretched back? Hmm, I think we should start with the erratic Malaysian weather.
Living in a country for past 8 years where it only rains TWICE per year doesn’t teach you to cope with the terrifying thunderstorms that haunt you every day in this tropical country. The first time I heard the thunderstorm roaring angrily outside my hostel had shaken my core so terribly that I almost had tears at corner of my eyes with my heart racing so fast with every sound of the thunders. I literally could feel the vibration from the impact of the thunders because at that time I was living in 14th floor…ALONE, as my roommate was away for few days. I turned off every electric appliance and hold a torch in my hand in case the electricity is down (thank God it didn’t), while laying on my bed, tightly sealed under my wool blanket with ear buds in my ears hoping to sleep and pretend that all these thunders are just a nightmare.
Here is how the weather looks like when thunderstorm is coming to town. I didn’t dare to take picture during the thunder as all my windows were tightly closed covered with thick curtain.

Pretty scary eh? Almost like the world going to end soon but I’m pretty sure when that time comes, it’s gonna get so much worse than this.
I asked my friends that just arrived into this country and they all agreed they faced the same experience as me. We all freaked out to a point we prayed hard to God please let this disastrous Mother Nature over ASAP and promised to be a better Muslim.
Malaysian weather is so erratic that one morning can turned out to be so pleasantly breezy and sunny and strong thunders on the evening. For example, one day I woke up at dawn saw the weather like this,

It was weird (and alarming) as this never happened before to me and my roommate. The sky was coloured with rusty yellow and we thought it’s going to rain soon but the air was pretty dry and warm, with no signs of raining.
Couple hours later, the weather was like this

SO MUCH DIFFERENT RIGHT? *sign* the wonders of God are so unpredictable.
Here’s how the weather normally looks like in afternoon after the small rain,

During sunset,

After sunset,

Alright, that’s it from me today. I hope you enjoy this post because many efforts are needed to keep myself awake and continue the writing. In future, I’m hoping to see more weather related posts from you so it wouldn’t make me look lame and lonely for posting this. I don’t want to be #foreveralone…
Ok thanks bye. I want to dream Darren Chriss tonight. No, every night :p

Its Blog Junkie Marathon Week
Hola! I'm currently enjoying my 2 weeks holiday in Qatar for the Semester Break and baby, I'm relishing every single moment of it...catching up with things that I missed dearly much.
I know I have been a bad blogger ever since I enrolled in University (and now, I truly respect for those University students that are still able to update their blogs perpetually, despite their tight schedules fully occupied by challenging assignments and exams. *RESPECT*).
That's why I'm going to make it up all the post entries that should have been written months ago by junking them all in ONE WEEK!!! Yeahhh, its Nadia's 1st "Blog Junkie Marathon Week" project!!!

(ooooo~ let's travelling back to Nadia's memory lanes 5 months ago~~~)
As you know, I'm type of person who always delay things so I'm not bound to start the 'project' now. I will delay it till Sunday because, if my memory serves me right, I think Sunday is the beginning of the week right? So I'm going to use that excuse to start off this 'project'
I hope you guys will support it by commenting on my posts la. Come... inspire me to blurt out my life stories for the world to acknowledge my existence......
I'm leaving you in good mood with this hottie!

笑着回家 Homecoming
Last Friday was the last day of class before the Chinese New Year holiday begins. So the Chinese peeps decided to have some fun at Mid Valley shopping mall. I tagged along with them because I think I have been working quite hard this week in term of studying with a hectic full-day schedule, so I thought why not go out there have some fun? I deserve it anyway~

Some of us wanted to watch a movie and after having a pointless argument between Green Hornet vs the Singapore's movie "笑着回家 Homecoming" , they decided to watch the Singaporean movie as one of us is anti Jay Chou and Chinese New year is approaching so the comedy within "Homecoming" would be more appropriate to live up our lifeless souls.
I was against the idea at first to watch the Singaporean Chinese movie because first I never heard anything relating to this movie, second I afraid I can't understand the movie as my Mandarin/Cantonese/Hokkien aren't that brilliant anyway so it would be a total waste if I didn't get the jokes, lastly Leigh told me Green Hornet was awesome and I wanted to catch a glimpse of Jay Chou's acting skills since everyone was criticizing how bad he was in the movie.
But my Chinese friends were so brilliant at persuading me by telling me all the bad shits about Jay Chou and his movie and forgetting his good look and songs.
And you know what? THE MOVIE WAS "FANTABULOUS" AND INSANELY HILARIOUS!

I'm so glad my friends made me watched this movie! I was LMAO throughout the movie till the end... so busy laughing that I couldn't finish my popcorns (because laughing+eating popcorn= chocking [and I don't want to die in cinema]) I never knew Singapore and Malaysia writers/producers can collaborate to make such a brilliant comedy movie! Looks like I need to dig in more information regarding local movies, they are not bad as last decade ago.

Synopsis:
HOMECOMING" tells a series of stories about family and what it means to go home. It will capture the essence of the warmth and the sense of tradition for people celebrating the idea of coming together for a once a year. The characters, and their families in the stories, come from a diverse range of generations, races and social backgrounds. The movie stars 李国煌 Mark Lee, 梁志强 Jack Neo, 阿牛 A Niu, Afdlin Shauki, 郑秀珍 Jacelyn Tay, 黄文鸿 Huang Wenhong, 林惠玲 Rebecca Lim, 高艺 Koe Yeet
(courtesy of youtube)
What I love so much about this movie is that the characters come from diverse range of generation, races and social backgrounds. They got Malaysian movie stars like Afdlin Shauki & (OMG, my fav Malaysian singer/actor) Ah Niu and Singaporean widely known comedian Mark Lee and Jack Neo. Watching this movie gave me the warm feelings of the importance of CNY's traditions, the close-tied family relationships and the joy of helping strangers even with losing some of your fortunes. Despite all the funny bits, there were some sad scenes that reminds me of my far far away family. And I loved the idea of CNY reunion dinner cuisines are renamed after (fortune-related) Chinese proverbs. The Chinese are so creative and clever! (why can't I get that sort of skill in my blood?
)I was lucky to be raised in a Chinese + Malay tradition under my parents' strong influence in keeping family's traditions together, and I'm glad both my parents' can get along well despite coming from different races and cultural backgrounds before they were married.
Of course during the new year eves everyone in the family will get together and have a reunion dinner but ever since my family moved out to Qatar 7 years ago, the reunion dinner is no longer part of our life for the past 7 years because of the inappropriate holiday timings and costs of flight tickets to get back home
. (We did had reunion dinner whenever we got back here but under non-festive seasons). However this year my parents decide to celebrate Eid in Malaysia with the rest of the family members so YAY!

So stay tuned for the big family reunion in August later!

(pictures I steal from HildaMilda teehee)
If you can understand Mandarin/Cantonese, I will give you double thumbs up for this movie! Trust me, this movie will certainly crack your ass off the chair and hopefully you won't get stomach pain for laughing too hard. The movie tittle definitely suits the movie itself because you'll be laughing all the way home (as directly translated from the movie Chinese tittle and wtf I don't know why the English tittle is different from the Chinese tittle)
Last but not least, Gong Xi Fa Chai to whoever celebrate CNY! Angpao?

p/s: if you wanna see the beautifully decorated KL malls in commemoration of CNY, go here. I can't be bother to snap photos inside malls *lazy*
